Hi y blockers

Not a y block item (I don't guess) but while scrolling through e Pay I saw this and became curious as to what it came out of and what it might fit.  This would be one of many, many things I've never heard of before.  Sorry, I forgot to get the item number.  DUH!!!

Any thoughts??????

The Dagenham 4 speed was made in Ford's plant in Dagenham England.  In USA it was used behind the 144 and 170 CID six in Falcons, Comets, and Mustangs.  I had one in a Comet 2 dr sedan with bucket seats and a console that was also used in Falcons.  As far as I can remember it had satisfactory ratios for the motor.

   OOOK!!!!!  I had a buddy in school that had a 62 or 63 Falcon convert 6 cyl with a 4 spd and I guess it was one of these.

My buddy Pete had one in a '66 Mustang in Highschool, worked real well with the six.

I may be wrong, but it is a little thing and I don't think they would put it behind a big engine in a truck.

My dad had a '64 econoline with a 4 speed on the column. I'll bet that was the transmission in it. It was a 170 ci. Only one I've ever seen with a 4 speed on the column.



I broke the shift lever off of it. When we had it into the ford garage to get it replaced, the mechanic drove the shear pin into the windshield. They had to replace the windshield.

I had a 78 Mercury Monarch with a 6 cylinder and a 4 speed in which 4th was overdrive and 3rd was direct.I think that was this transmission.

        What you had wasn't the Dagenham, but a modified top loader. The OD was actually third gear, third was direct or the fourth gear in a coventional 4 speed.
