You are referring to the intake manifold and rockers I assume? He was asking $275.00 OBO.I was really not sure what they were worth so I did not go any further than having a look at them.Interesting items.

If your not in a hurry I would wait a while. Check older local boat yards etc.. The last two of these I got were free for the removal. These parts seem really high. Chuck

I am not interested in the oil pan etg.Just thought it was interesting to see how different it was from passenger car pan setup especially being cast alumminum.I would assume there is a centrifugal advance in the distributor.Has to be for it to work properly.Trying to decide if its worth buying and maybe resell and cut my cost for the rest.

I never looked into the boat Mallory's but do they have a centrifical advance? Not sure. If you want to get the oil pan you will also need the front cover. Its much smaller than the regular one. These oil pans and front covers end up on a lot of dragster Y's and work well there. They could be used on a car motor but would take some fabrication for pullies etc.. Also the damper is usually a small, short one that ran only the alternator. Behind the damper is a spacer that moves it out to the correct alignment. I use the spacer with an old socket welded on for a crank turner. Works great, and uses the stock keyway. I've seen a few of these on hot rods, especially ones with low hood clearence. I have also seen them polished and they can look very good and unusual. Only the real Y's guys know about the boat motors. Chuck

I just got back back from checking out the marine stuff. The heads are ECG-T which apparently are cast for marine use.Small 1.78 intake valves. That casting # does not even appear on Mummerts site.Interesting distributor too.Mallory dual point but no advance mechanism which I guess you dont need on a boat motor.Showed me whats left of the camshaft.Apparently this was a rebuilt motor and didn't last too long before it desintegrated. The valley pan is also aluminum with spark arrestors on each end where the carbs fit into.Brass trim on the arrestors. The carbs and linkage are complete and move freely.Need to redo carbs obviously. He will take $275.00 for the intake setup with valley pan, water connectors, and chrome rocker covers which are a heavier steel stamping like regular factory covers-just chromed. The oil pan is interesting.Just a big square aluminum box-no sump like cars have.I am seriously thinking of buying this setup and make it a project down the road sometime.Any input from anyone? Is this price reasonable? Is that Mallory distributor of any value? He wants $40.00 for it.
