I'm very curious about the block marked B5AE. I have never seen one that had a ledgible date code. As far as I know they were replacements so the date code should be 58-59 or later. If that one is 1955-56 then I need to redo my block listing on website.John, I took apart the B5AE motor yesterday although I can't read the date codes it is a 272 with C2AE rods and a "spade" style gearotor oil pump and "load-o-matic" dizzy, the deck also had the steam holes drilled in the middle. The engine was std. all the way through and the bearings had FoMoCo in block letters not script.
So, does this help you or just confuse the matter more?
God Bless.
