John Mummert (12/7/2009)
I'm very curious about the block marked B5AE. I have never seen one that had a ledgible date code. As far as I know they were replacements so the date code should be 58-59 or later. If that one is 1955-56 then I need to redo my block listing on website.

John, I took apart the B5AE motor yesterday although I can't read the date codes it is a 272 with C2AE rods and a "spade" style gearotor oil pump and "load-o-matic" dizzy, the deck also had the steam holes drilled in the middle.  The engine was std. all the way through and the bearings had FoMoCo in block letters not script.

So, does this help you or just confuse the matter more? Ermm

That is quite a few parts!

If you have any of the triangular bodied distributors that you want to sell, I have a buyer.

And if he wants to sell that truck, I'm sure I can find someone who wants it. Transportation costs aside, I don't have a place to keep it. Is the tailgate missing? A Merc tailgate will be difficult to find.

Charlie, I will look through the dizzys and see if I can find one.  As for the truck he said he would sell it but he didn't give me a price, he started to go on about the "documentation" that he had on it so I think he was going to set a high price.  When we go back I'll see if I can't nail him down on an exact price and I'll see about the tailgate.

Wow,  I would walk on water for a set of 57 Passenger car dual manifolds, any amongst them you would part with? JG

I would say that any and all the parts will be for sale when we get them all sorted out,  profits from the sale of these parts are going to the "Bonneville Comet" fund most definitely a "Non Profit" organization so you may be able to write it off on your taxes Tongue.  (don't quote me on that)

Well today was the day. Smile We made our first trip back with a load of parts, got a bunch of stuff, now just have to clean and see how good it all is.  I was happy to see 3 sets of ECZ-Gs,  3 sets of 113s and quite a few more ECZ-C heads plus a number of high ratio rockers. Other parts are just too numerous to list but let me say this, we will never run out of timing covers. Tongue

That is less than half the heads, we still have another trip to make up there. Rolleyes

Plenty of exhaust manifolds, more left hand than right for some reason.

Took a few more pics of the M-100 also for Charlie McC.

Hi Tim,

I hope you post a picture of all the stuff you guys load up and stash.  I sounds like it will be more than a pickup load.
