I tell ya guys, I'd love to have a set of those for my FED project but I'm afraid of how much they will sell for in the end and how much it would cost to get them running correctly. Also don't you need a pump and a few other parts to make them run? I don't know, you spend a bunch of money to get something like that and it ends up sitting on a shelf. I think I'll just go with carburettors. Sure looks cool though.

I remember a set for sale back on the old Yblock forum many years ago. I think the guy ended up paying a shocking $4k plus for the set that did not include the injection pump. Also, the Hilborn is a racing setup and I don't think it would be streetable as it is designed for mostly full throttle use. Converting it to EFI multiport would be one way to go but even then, with the throttle plates just above the head intake ports, the low end would be awful. For the EFI MAF Multiport possibilty, removing the throttle plates and fabricating long individual intake runners to a common plenum and throttle body was an idea is was toying with years ago. But....obviously the cost of that would be ridiculous and really, to me, trashing of a very cool and rare vintage performance system for Y blocks. Anyone know if Webers were ever used on American Y blocks?

They are getting scarcer and hence dearer, like cheap petrol! buy it now or miss out or forever cry about it, regardless of what it is. I brought this one #5 from ebay with fuel pump angle drive, mallory dist, valley cover, lines etc, it is sweet and i had to make sacrifices to own it but cheap by todays prices, point is, all this rare stuff doesnt get cheaper, happy hunting.

nice score then.. at the current price though sacrifices, to me, would mean selling my daily driver and walking seven miles to work.. mainly just watching it as a "pipe dream" as they say.. One would hope, though, with the recent resurgence in the popularity of our beloved engines more manufacturers will start reproducing more parts for them.. I'm still kinda tickeled at the rumors of the "new" 3X2 manifold

Is anybody using Hilborn setup on street? I assume, heat bends throttle linkage too much for proper street usage. That happened to local Hotrodder, who converted mechanical injection to EFI and I heard same rumours from finnish old school rally veterans who used always flexible hose between Webers and intake manifold.
