There are 3 threaded holes next to the distributor.2 are parellel with each other. That bracket goes there with the hole sticking up for the spring facing the distributor side. The bolts are just standard hardware 5/16 by 3/4 long I believe. The spring goes straight up and hooks to an arm off the bellcrank bolted on the intake manifold. The other hole next to where this bracket goes is for the bracket that hangs down for your wires to go through on the way around the block under the exhaust manifolds. If you dont have that bracket the 4 brackets and rubber insulators for the wires are available from any of the usual suppliers for about $25.00 for complete kit.

On checking the one on my LHD 56 sunliner,312, it has similar support, otherwise what supports the accel linkage end ?

The puzzle is coming together...wondered why the mystery part looked like overkill then today realized it stabilized end of throttle linkage and piece was broken off. Ouch!
Shouldn't be too hard to make new one of these. Still don't see where other end of spring attaches???

Spring attaches to only other hole on the bracket!

Post a pic of the rest of the linkage that you have.Maybe the piece that the spring hooks to is missing or broken off.
