Its great to see your truck out traveling. I think alot of kids have never seen a truck like yours. Its great PR for the hobby. I know when I take my 60 4x4 out for a drive I always get a few waves. I am hoping next year to take mine out on a few extended trips with the family which will be good for memory makers. Thanks again for the great pics. Don

Did it again this weekend! Took the ol' F-100 and Alaskan up to Mineral King for a hike with my wife. The path to Mineral King is a very windy sometimes one lane road that takes you to the trail head at 8000', a lot of first gear work, and the old truck did wonderfully. Not just the Y but the suspension too, this road has some very big bumps. Anyway I had a great time driving my truck as always.

Then we hiked to this beautiful lake at 10,500'. What a country we live in!

You love your truck? I FREAKING LOVE YOUR TRUCK. I can't tell you how many times I've watched that vid of you laying rubber in third! I show it off all the time. Glad to hear that she's happy pulling your trash around the country as well. Good job at Bonneville, sorry you guys didn't come home with a trophy. Laters, Ryan

It's all stock and handels very well. I think the key is a good steering box, I've driven many that I would not want to take very far.

Glad you had a great trip, I have a 58 I use as nearly my daily driver, 223 but if I don't sell it it will eventually have a Y. Just curious, is your front end all stock in that truck? I was thinking of using mine to haul my car to columbus but afraid of getting too squirrelly with that old truck having a 55 vicky on the trailer behind me.

pegleg (8/20/2010) The "do it Yerself" Sickle trailer's kind of neat too. Use the bike for a pit bike? Thanks! I was real happy with it. I guess you could call it a "pit bike" I originally thought I'd use it to run into town from the camp but never used it for that. I did ride it around the pits and it came home covered in salt.

That thing is a runner! I followed Tim & Kathy back from Elmo in June, and before leaving Tim warned me that he liked to cruise about 60 mph... as we sailed over the Tehachape pass at about 70 mph I was pleasantly surprised... Having put about 10k miles on my 223" powered '60, these trucks were built to work. Not that I am a big bowtie hater, but this era of F-100 is far better than any C-10 I've ever used...
