I made a couple of calls - one of my field techs grew up in Beulah, N.D.

The Edsel man's name is Leroy Walker - (701) 873-4491

He has the most beautiful '56 Lincoln I've ever seen -(unrestored - just "saved" in a barn).

This info is very old - long shot at best but .......

Try Eric Van Winkle - 428 Orchard Lane, Biullings, Mt.   265-9837 in your area code

I'm scrounging through my cards - there is a gentleman in Beulah, North Dakota - northeast of you ....Watson(?) with a forty acre field full of Edsels out by the Antelope Power Station. I found him by asking at the NAPA in Beulah if there was a local collector of old Fords....and as it turns out - he is the king.

If you go there don't expect to get away too quick........he doesn't get too many strangers to talk to.

so we dug out our extra engine and it is a 272, good news as the pistons we have are 292 bore size so if this block turns out to be okay we can open it up to 292 size...

assembling the first engine we reused our headbolts and main cap bolts, dont think I want to do that again...who carries replacements? thanks-

all good ideas, I think we will tear down our other block and see if its useable, dont want to risk ruining the good stuff in this block...

if our extra is no good sounds like I've got a line on a some other blocks

stay tuned...

If it were me, I wouldn't try to glue that piece in place.  If it came out, it might cause damage before it found its way to the pan.  The lack of bearing support wouldn't concern me, it is a very small area.  The bearing is clamped in the block by the "crush" when the cap is tigntened, it wouldn't go anywhere.
