Rick, I ran E-85 which is acutally E-70 this time of year, with a knock sensor with absolutely no sign of detonation.. The big cam bleeds a lot of compression down low. I think this combination would run on about 100 octane easily maybe 93 with backed off timingGreat! You cannot get 115/145 anymore but you can sure get 100LL avgas (2ml TEL/gal)....just tell them it's for your "homebuilt" airplane!!
Have you considered (Mummerts) aluminum heads for additional detonation protection?
