Yes Tim that is the Isky cam - I love the way it sounds, thanks again for all the help! We broke everything in so I "hope" we are good to go...am using valvoline vr-1 as I read some place that it has the most zinc??

The run in stand was purchased from Speedway for WAY too much money, we had to make quite a few modifications to it to make it more usable. If I were you I woul build one, could make one alot nicer for alot less money...

Again I can't thank you guys enough for all the help with parts and advise, I know its cliche but I dont want to try and name names because I will forget someone and hurt their feelings, you guys know who you are and from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU - you have contributed a large amount to the education of many good young people, might have even planted a hot rod seed in a couple of them!

Now, is there a thread on the forum I can search for rebuilding a starter? Dont think our pinion gear is disengaging properly??

Inspiration for my class next year! Good job. Where did you locate your engine run-in stand?

Dan:

Way to go!  Makes us proud, as we on this site have followed this project from its inception, and helped where we could.  I'm glad you bent the rules on cell phones, that was an experience that at least some of the students would save to their computers for future enjoyment of a positive part of the school curriculum.

Sounds good, nice project for your students. One suggestion tho, and maybe it's not a close as it looks in the video, but when the student reached across and under the radiator to start it, I cringedPinch I realize there was no fan but there are still spinning parts...

Think we have it all sealed up....

It runs!

Will get some video posted ASAP, I cannot possibly thank everyone enough who helped with parts and advise on this project. I think the kids are pretty stoked on it! We dont allow cell phone use in class but I had to make an exception as a number of them asked if they could takes pics with their phones. I had almost all the kids from Freshman to Seniors involved in various aspects of the project so alot of kids got their hands on it (part of the reason it took so long to get going but I think it was a good idea). Again, I cannot thank you folks enough, we will let you see it running very soon! thanks-
