As I discussed in my other thread, I pulled a 292 out of a 56 club sedan to put in my 56 F100. Anyway, the valve cover stickers were long gone....I've tried to research it but I'm coming up with different pictures. Most that I see are the "thunderbird special" stickers. But then I see others with the "thunderbird" stickers. I also see the "thunderbird special" stickers on eBay listed as '57. I just want to put the right stickers on my valve covers. Thanks guys!

Ok, thanks Mark. I guess I just assumed they were the "thunderbird special" stickers since it was a "thunderbird special" club sedan. But that's what I love about this site....plenty of guys in the know around here. Now comes the fun part, finding the reproduction stickers. I found the "special" stickers but not the regular ones.

This is the decal for the 312 motor - I got them from Mac's - and they list the other version for the 292's as well.....I beleive they are all made by the same supplier.

Brad: Whatever ones you put on, be very carefull on installation, they damage easily.. Also ensure the surface is very clean, no wax or oil

Wouldn't the truck have had some type of Ford V-8 decals? Neither Thunderbird decal would be "correct" for a truck, so just go with the Thunderbird Special decals for the "wow" factor.

I found these "Power King " decals in my picture stash......dunno about how fun they would be to have - but definitely different.
I found a u-tube video listed on the web that shows how to fit really big decals on model airplanes. One of the most helpful ideas was to use a wide - 1-1/2 - very soft bristle, paint brush to work out the decal bubbles. It works pretty well.

Mine came from Sacramento Vintage Ford. I'm sure other venders sell them.
