Thanks once again fellas, I will definately give one of those options a go. Just for fun?? I will get the pro-comp installed now that I've got it, but I will also rebuild the other two as spares just so i can learn a thing or two about doing these conversions. I should have kept reading more of the forums before venturing into the pro-comp but as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I'll update you all in a few weeks time once i've installed it. Ken.

You guys are making me feel like a dinosaur because I am going to run with a stock dizzy and points.
Gary - Australian 1958 Star Customline
Yeah I ran with points for years too, but the conversion to electronic is so easy and the engine sure runs sweeter longer. I like the Accell units. I picked up one from Dan Jessup on this site and another on eBay. My experience with Pertronix was not good - had one fail which I bought locally for big bucks. Once converted you'll never go back. Kenny by what you say you already have the the good distributor if the c4oe is a y block. If it is a Windsor it is the best core to convert to a yblock.
Pertronix Accell or Mallory are all good options for electronic conversion.

thanks guys, I wasn't really thinking about "made in china" stuff and was just wanting to experiment a bit and go electronic without too much hassell. Anyways, I do have two points distributors that need rebuilding, ones a FEK12127 that I took out, and the other is a C40E-2127A. I don't mind buying off Ebay and any good directions on what brands or companies to buy from would be appreciated. Cheers Ken

Ken, Your realy closing your options off by not being willing to import things. I've had some large thing come across to Australia for example a radiator, one of my intake manifolds, a dizzy, the other day I had a bendtsen AOD adaptor kit turn up. The American market is extensive and inexpensive. If your worried about using a credit card over the net, get a debit card and only have the cash in the account for the transaction you are doing. With the internet, ebay and the Yanks into fities cars. Parts that weren't available 20 years ago are within your reach and you don't even have to leave home. cheers Warren

I don't remember all the details, maybe Moz can tell you. But all you guys gotta do is ask, we can and will find them. Probably for less than a hundred US. I think I paid 57 bucks for Moz's. you might be able to work out something with Lon or one of the Guys from OZ who comes over for The Y block shhotout last of August. Might save some shipping.
