Hello Dave! If you look in the Macs 60-72 Car online Catalogue under brake category the 2nd page show those adjuster kits for Ford and lists the 2049 separatley for Ford as C1SS-2049 and another 2049 for Mercury application. If you call Macs I think they will verify for you.If you click on the diagram next to the part # it shows the kit less the 2049 spring which hooks onto the lever to return it to position.Mercury and Ford use different kits. The man who wrote the article in the CVA magazines name is Bob Bomhof. His email is bluemoon@nexicom.net.If you had questions about what exact parts are needed in addition to the kits I am sure he would tell you.

DANIEL TINDER (1/17/2010) If Dave can't reach the author, I'd be glad to attempt scan & email (or hard copy forward, if needed) when provided with address. Would welcome feedback in return, as I plan the same conversion for rear drums eventually (after front disc kit installation).Email sent! THanks!

FYI: Just found some additional info I had overlooked: Replacement spring & self-adjuster kits for 65-73 Jeep Cherokee are supposed to fit (after .030" is milled off the shoe pin washer).

I was doing a little research using Napaonline. The front shoes on a 55-56 Ford are R-263.The rears are R55.A 1964 F100 2wd uses the same rear shoes (55).Adjuster kits from Napa are UP80691 and UP80692.Lever return springs are UP80592 packaged as 2.A 1970 Ford Custom 500 uses R-263 as rear shoes.Adjuster kits are UP80695 and UP80696.Return springs are UP80509 packaged as 2.If you want to have a look at pics go to Napaonline.com and look up parts for the above mentioned vehicles.Ballpark cost to do 4 wheels is $60.00.55-56 Ford cars and 55-57 T-Bird use the same brake shoes.
